Earlier this month, the energy efficiency world lost a giant. Blair Hamilton was the founder of Vermont Energy Investment Corp (VEIC) where his vision created a world-renowned organization. Blair died on April 8 after a long battle with cancer. As a genius, visionary, occasional sparring partner, and someone who could observe and point out when the emperor had no clothes, he will be missed. My condolences to his family.
Blair, along with his wife Beth Sachs, helped forge a path that first recognized and then proved that energy-efficiency was the wise investment strategy in meeting our energy needs—with the added benefit of better stewardship of the environment at the same time. His energy, his passion, and his courage will continue to inspire.
